Early in Todd's career two trial attorneys at the firm where he worked were selected to judgeships. As a result, Todd quickly became immersed in litigation, and today he is an experienced and respected trial attorney, having successfully tried dozens of jury trials, prosecuted and defended arbitrations and bench trials, and handled numerous appeals. He has been successful in litigating claims pertaining to wrongful death, bad faith, premises liability, real estate broker/agent malpractice, land use and zoning, commercial disputes, casualty losses, vehicle accidents, and a variety of insurance coverage issues. In recent years Todd has litigated significant intellectual property disputes. He has also frequently appeared before city commissions, county commissions and planning commissions.

Robert W. RamsdellRobert W. Ramsdell
Attorney

Bob served from 1975 to 1996 on active duty in the U.S. Army Field Artillery, attaining the rank of Lieutenant Colonel. One notable assignment was duty as an Assistant Professor of Economics at West Point after he earned an M.B.A. at Dartmouth College. Following service in the Gulf War as the operations officer of a MLRS rocket artillery battalion, Bob’s final assignment was as a Tactics Instructor at the Command & General Staff College, Fort Leavenworth, Kansas.

Sarah E. WarnerSarah E. Warner
Attorney

After graduating from Ave Maria School of Law in 2006, Sarah served as the judicial clerk for the Honorable Robert E. Davis of the Kansas Supreme Court. During her work at the Court, Sarah researched and made recommendations to the justices on more than 100 pending cases, ranging in subject matter from first-degree murder to eminent domain to complex civil litigation and class actions. When Justice Davis became Chief Justice of the Kansas Judicial Branch in January 2009, Sarah was given the additional responsibility of coordinating the efforts of the judicial clerks in all Kansas Supreme Court chambers and assisting with the Chief Justice's liaisons with the legislative and executive branches.

Stephen R. McAllisterStephen R. McAllister, Of Counsel
Attorney

Steve is a graduate of the University of Kansas (B.A. 1985) and the University of Kansas School of Law (J.D. 1988). He was admitted to the Illinois Bar in 1989, the District of Columbia Bar in 1991, and the Kansas Bar in 1993. Steve was inducted into the Kansas chapter of the Order of the Coif.

Robert is a graduate of New College of Florida (B.A. 2003), the University of Florida (M.B.A. 2009), and the University of Notre Dame (J.D. 2012). He worked as a claims adjuster for Progressive Auto Insurance for five years before law school. While in law school, he was Executive Editor of the Notre Dame Journal of Law, Ethics & Public Policy. He was admitted to the Florida Bar in 2012 and the Kansas Bar in 2016.

Linda A. Pointer
Administrative Assistant

Linda joined Thompson Ramsdell & Qualseth, P.A. in 2004, and she has been making herself indispensible ever since. She is experienced in handling medical and insurance records, and has a background in office administration and departmental supervision. She is responsible for document management throughout the firm; she handles scheduling; she oversees many aspects of the physical facility; and she has a special talent for making visitors to the firm feel welcome and comfortable. When her time is not completely consumed with those tasks, she has even been known to file pleadings, or serve a summons or subpoena.

Michaelah Johnson

Michaelah's responsibilities include drafting documents, examination of medical records, research, creating business entities, scheduling, and notarizing documents. Michaelah earned a Bachelor's degree in Spanish and an Associate's degree as an administrative assistant through Dordt College in Iowa. Toni Ladd
Legal Assistant

Toni’s responsibilities include drafting documents, examination and management of medical records, research, scheduling, and assisting in discovery efforts. Her previous experience was in the field of workers’ compensation. Toni earned an Associate’s degree in paralegal studies from Johnson County Community College.
